Hot and spicy syrup for hot beverages - easy condiment full of spices.
- 240 ml water
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 0.5 tsp ground nutmeg
- 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Place water, all the spices and vanilla extract into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring often. Lower the heat and cook over low flame for 10 minutes stirring occasionally.
Let it cool down then strain the syrup through a very dense strainer, a thick gauze or a paper coffee filter. Serve along with hot drinks such as tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
