Hot and spicy syrup for hot beverages

This spicy syrup is full of mixed spices and it is perfect for hot beverages like tea and coffee. Ginger and cayenne pepper give it a spicy accent that will warm anyone up. Try a teaspoon of this syrup with hot chocolate. Yummy!

Ingredients
- 240 ml water
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 0.5 tsp ground nutmeg
- 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions spicy syrup
Place water, all the spices and vanilla extract into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil while stirring often. Lower the heat and cook over low flame for 10 minutes stirring occasionally.

Let it cool down then strain the syrup through a very dense strainer, a thick gauze or a paper coffee filter. Serve along with hot drinks such as tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
