Instructions: Sun butter - homemade sunflower seed butter
Spread your seeds on a baking sheet. Cook in the oven for about 10 minutes at 180 °C, shaking the pan occasionally, until they become golden. Be careful not to burn the seeds because this will make the butter become bitter. This passage can also be done in a frying pan.
Transfer warm seeds in a food processor with blade attachment and turn it on. Depending on the power of your food processor it will take 5 to 10 minutes to prepare your sunflower seed butter. During this time, you can see that the seeds will change consistency, from crumbs to a dense mass, and finally into a spreadable butter. If you like you can add a little sugar, honey, cinnamon or salt. I personally prefer adding nothing and sticking to all natural nutty flavour.
