Wash and peel the cucumbers. Grate them into a bowl on a grater with large holes. Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, stir and set aside for 5 minutes.
Next, take the cucumbers in your hands and squeeze to eliminate the excess of water. Discard the cucumber juice and add minced garlic, yogurt, cumin seeds and lemon juice into the cucumber mash. Add some pepper and mix.
Let the tzatziki sauce rest in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes before serving. Taste and add more salt if necessary.
