Classic red candy apples for Halloween

Perfect for Halloween these classic red candy apples will delight children and adults with a sweet tooth. Very sweet, very red and very delicious. The sweetness of the caramel goes perfectly with the sour taste of Granny Smith apples (I strongly recommend to use them for this recipe). The recipe requires a thermometer to measure the temperature of the sugarl but I know that many of you are able to create these apples simply thanks to your instinct (see notes). Be careful for your teeth! This sweet caramel is hard and crunchy. 😉 Trick or treat!

Instructions: Classic red candy apples for Halloween

Rinse and dry your apples. Remove the stem and insert a wooden stick into the apple. Set aside.

Combine the rest of the ingredients in a saucepan. Turn on the flame and bring to a boil. Cook the caramel without stiring until it reaches the temperature 130 – 140 °C.

Turn off the flame. Gently dip the apples in the red caramel so that they are completely covered. Place each apple on a baking tray lined with the baking paper and proceed with the rest of the apples. Cool completely before serving.

Trick or treat!
