Homemade vanilla rice pudding is a delicious comfort food dessert of British origin. Dense and creamy, amazing both hot and cold conquers hearts of children and adults.
Vanilla rice pudding
- 500 ml milk
- 100 ml cream
- 80 g rice
- 1 vanilla bean
- honey or sugar to taste
- cinnamon for garnish optional
Instructions: Homemade vanilla rice pudding
- Wash the rice under running water.
- Take a medium pan, pour half a liter of milk and add 100 ml of cream then add rice. Cut the vanilla bean and extract the seeds and add them to the milk.
- Place the pot on the heat. Cook on low flame for about 20 minutes (depends on the rice you are using), stirring often. After 20 minutes add honey (or sugar) and cook the rice pudding for another 10 minutes stirring often. After this time turn off the flame, divide it into dessert cups and serve hot or when completely cooled down with some cinnamon on top.
