Baked sweet potato chips
These baked American sweet potato chips (batata) are just great! Crispy and flavourful, all they need is a bit of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Fast and easy appetizer with sweet potatoes. Delicious and healthy finger food.

- 1 medium sweet potato
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt to taste
- your favorite spices to taste (optional)

Instructions: Baked sweet potato chips
Peel the sweet potatoes. Using a mandoline slicer or a very sharp knife, slice it as thin as possible (2-3 mm). Add a spoonful of olive oil, a big pinch of salt and if you like you can add some spices (rosemary, paprika, cayenne pepper) and toss to cover it well. Cover the baking tray with the baking paper and spread them in a single layer on the baking tray.
Bake in the preheated static oven at 150 – 175 °C for 10 minutes then flip each slice and bake for another 10 minutes.
If your chips are thicker than 3 mm, bake them at 150 °C for longer period of time until they become crispy. Let them cool down completely and serve.
